  • Susie graduated from the University of Montevallo with a degree in Social Work and Psychology. She began teaching at Prince of Peace in 2013 after previously having taught Spanish at Westminster Upper School, Briarwood Christian School, Covenant Christian School (St. Louis), and Virginia College (Birmingham) as well as two Homeschool programs.

  • Brett Halsey is graduate of Arizona State University with a B.S. in Urban Recreation. Brett and his wife Casey are parishioners of Prince of Peace and have two children. Brett has joined the Prince of Peace faculty after spending more than twenty-five years in corporate America. Brett enjoys coaching basketball, volleyball and tennis.

  • Ale joined Prince of Peace in 2013 as the Preschool and Kindergarten Spanish teacher. She grew up in Mexico and came to the US with her husband and three daughters. Although she studied Accounting in school, she felt her calling was to work with children. Ale uses laughter, movement, and fun to introduce to the Spanish language to her students.

  • Mary Elizabeth has a BS in Anthropology from University of South Florida and a MS in Science Curriculum and Instruction from Florida State University. She joined the Prince of Peace team in 2017 teaching middle school science and religion after teaching science to grades 5-8 at Corpus Christi School in Tampa, Florida.

    In 2021, Mary Elizabeth transitioned to the role of STEM Coordinator at Prince of Peace. In this capacity, she works with teachers to create unique science curriculum that aligns with Next Generation Science Standards and weaves the principles of Catholicism throughout student inquiry. She also teaches grades PreK/4 through 8th in weekly STEM and Technology class, STEM elective course, and a Robotics competition team. Mary Elizabeth is a certified Level 2 Google Educator, has multiple certifications through VEX Robotics, and loves to share her own passion for learning with students.

  • Kelly is a graduate of Ohio University's Early Childhood Education program, Pre-K through 8th grade, and holds a Master’s in Reading Instruction from State University of West Georgia. She is also certified as a Highly Qualified teacher in the field of education and a "teacher of the year" recipient while teaching in the public schools.

    In her current position, Kelly brings together her keen understanding of students' learning styles, their need for good, data-driven instruction, and their desire to become independent learners with the challenging curriculum available at Prince of Peace. Her experience as the former Formation Board Chair, which leads the school in its academic endeavors, prepared Kelly to partner with teachers to maintain high standards while continuing to educate the whole child spiritually, emotionally, physically, and psychologically.

    Although Kelly enjoys the rigor of her detail-oriented position, her gentle nature is always present in the halls and at Prince of Peace Church where she has served as a volunteer Catechism and Vacation Bible School instructor over the years.
